| Hi All,
Does anybody know if there is a way to reset an RMS POS terminal so that the Product Key is required to be re-entered. We are replacing a number of workstations and the documentation as to which terminal has which Product Key has been misplaced.ie We are going to Re-enter all 8 keys again but I would rather not uninstall the POS and Reinstall if I don't have to.

| Hi, there´s no way to avoid the reinstalation and activation, even doing a disk image, always the POS and the HQ Client will ask for the Key. |

Hello,
Hope you are doing great !!
Could you please let me know, what is the procedure to setup and
installation of MS Dynamics RMS Store Operations 2.0 ? And how much time will take to install in the store (in hours) ?
If possible please share the Developers and User guide,
Would really appreciate if anybody can assist me on this, actually i am very much new to RMS 2.0...

Hi Puri,
Windows XP SP3 install:
1. Using MS Dynamics 2.0 media run the autorun
2. Select Store Operation install
3. It will install MS SQL Server 2005, take the default
enter the "sa' user password, write this password down
4. Once MS SQL Server 2005 is installed exit
5. Download MS SQL Server 2005 SP3
32bit - version file name SQLServer2005SP3-KB955706-x86-ENU
Install it, take the defaults
6. Using MS Dynamics 2.0 media run the autorun
7. select Install Store Operations take the defaults
8. Exit once it is finish
Depending on the CustomerSource agreement at the time of our install I was at MS Dynamics 2.0 SP2 and SP2 HF here are the steps for that.
-- Requires CustomerSource agreement
9. Download MS Dynamics 2.0 SP2
Retail2.0-KB949666 20MB
10. Double click to install, take the default
11. Download MS Dynamics 2.0 SP2 HotFix
Retail2.0-KB959321 9MB
12. Double click to install take the default
MS RMS 2.0 SP2 + SP2 HFX install is now complete |
